Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge Naturalist Private Guided Tram Tour
2:30pm – 5:00pm Wed 7 Feb 2018
The Harvard Club of Lee County invites you and members of the Yale and Princeton Clubs of Fort Myers to experience this nature adventure at the world renowned Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. Join us for a private, expertly guided tram tour when migratory birds have returned to their winter lodgings.
Two of our club members, Phyllis Gresham and Jim Griffith, are avid birders and serve as guides at Ding Darling. They will be onboard the tram to assist the naturalist and spot birding opportunities. We will pull over and disembark to get close to the action wherever we find it. Bring binoculars if you have them, and a camera if you’re into that.
After the 90-minute tour, we will return to the Visitors Center for a private reception. Beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres will be provided as we interact with our naturalist and guides and one another, while enjoying the new exhibits, video presentation and Nature Gift Store.
White Pelicans, one of the largest flying birds in North America, arrive in flocks to their winter homes, as do so many other Florida “snow birds.”
Roseate Spoonbills are year round residents at Ding Darling.
