Yale and Prince Clubs of Fort Myers are welcome to join us!

Our cruise vessel, the stable and spacious “River Queen” pontoon boat with canopy cover, departs the marina promptly at 1:00 PM. We are limited to 35 passengers for this tour to allow space to move around for better observing the manatees. John and Kathy Cookman, owners of the “Manatee & Eco River Tours” enterprise, have crafted this unique tour for our club.

John, a USCG Master Captain, will discuss the river engineering that altered the nature of the Caloosahatchee, the western section of the water way crossing the Florida peninsula through Lake Okeechobee. Kathy discovered her love for manatees as a Docent and Leader of the “Manatee Coast Region” of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, where rescued Manatees are rehabilitated in a 300,000 gallon aquarium for return to Florida coastal waters. Both of our guides are Florida Master Naturalists, eager to share their passion about the environment, wildlife and nature in general.
